So, your asking, what exactly are hemp seeds? I'm sure many of you have heard of them before, and heard of the healthy benefits that come with consuming them. I asked myself the same question; what exactly are they? Well, I tried hemp seeds for the first time and would like to share my experience!
Happy Hemp was kind enough to supply me with two different packs of hemp seeds. I tried this brand of hemp seeds for the first time when I did my Healthy Surprise review a while bag. Happy Hemp was one of the healthy items featured in the box for that month. Before receiving Happy Hemp through Healthy Surprise, I had never tried hemp seeds before. I didn't even know what they looked like or how they were supposed to taste. I had previously heard that they are supposed to be very nutritious and good for you, but I didn't know just how nutritious these little seeds can be.
The two packs of hemp seeds that I received included regular hemp seeds and toasted hemp seeds. While tasting both, I noticed that the toasted hemp seeds taste better plain and are great for snacks, while the regular hemp seeds are good for mixing in recipes and sprinkling on food. The toasted hemp seeds have a more nuttier taste than the regular ones.
Now...on to the health benefits! These are just some of the benefits that are included with consuming hemp seeds. There were different benefits listed on both of the packages.
Hemp seeds support: digestion, sleep, weight control, hair and nails, complexion, menstrual and menopause ease, and well being.
Hemp seeds are also great sources of fiber, iron, omegas, vitamin E, B vitamins, and more!
How do I eat hemp seeds? Usually I sprinkle them on top of my food. I like to include them with breakfast. If i'm eating oatmeal or yogurt, I prefer to sprinkle the regular hemp seeds on my food. If i'm eating a more savory dish such as tofu, then I sprinkle the toasted hemp seeds on top. There are so many ways you can eat these little seeds! The Happy Hemp packages I received included a few ideas such as hemp peanut butter and jelly and chicken salad. Of course, for you vegetarians, you could always sprinkle the seeds on chickpea salad instead!
Have any of you ever tried hemp seeds? What are your experiences?
XOXO Sabrina

I'd never heard of them either! I used to have a seed and seaweed mix that I used on top of noodles, Chinese food, that sort of thing, but the shop where I bought them closed down and I never managed to find them again. These look like they might do the job wonderfully! Off to see if I can find them in the UK - thank you!

Yes! I actually was at Costco one day and they had them out as a sample. (different brand then these) so since I am very low in Iron I decided to try them. Now I eat them everyday in my yoghurt. I just sprinkle them in and mix it up. Tastes great.
Thanks for sharing this brand. I will have to try them out.
